Dealing with Pain


It seems that no matter where God takes me struggles are inevitable. I encounter them in my own life and I certainly hear of them regularly from the lives that I am fortunate enough to minister to.  In many cases I am often asked “why pain exists” or “why God allows us to go through difficult times” and after a few recent encounters I decided to elaborate on a few life points. So here are FIVE FACTS OF LIFE.

1-   Life hurts:   
John 16:33 says it best  “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” There is no value in denying it. Pain/trouble/hurt/difficulty is just a part of life.

2-   Unless we deal with pain properly it WILL accumulate in our heart:
There is an age-old statement out there that says “Time heals all wounds”…well I am here to tell you that statement is false! Time heals nothing. Over time, life experiences don’t erase from our history or really even leave our minds. Instead they often transform into subconscious addictions. For instance feeling rejection as a young child may lead to a subconscious need to “fit in” in later years of life. It also may develop into more severe issues like pornography addiction.
I have seen first hand that children growing up without one or both of their parents actively involved in their life can become poor parents themselves when they have children. This is because what is in our “heart” as we call it, is what makes us who we are! We must not allow pain to make a home in our hearts because the result can be a major flaw in our character and can prevent us from being great!


3-   Accumulated pain and unresolved problems compromise our emotional, mental, relational and spiritual health
Although many times we discount the value of pain and act as if it’s really no big deal, the truth is pain is just the beginning. It is unhealthy for us to “bottle up” pain, ignore it, or use it as an excuse to fail in key areas of life. The method of coping with pain that we choose effects our health in ways we could never imagine. There is no doubt that as our emotional, mental, spiritual and relational health is effected that we begin to transform and it is of the utmost importance that our life transformations be ones that make us better…not worse!

4-   We ALL deal with pain
We have to stop allowing ourselves  to believe that we have just “ignored” pain or found a way to live without it…EVERYBODY deals with pain, and the process of obtaining freedom may begin at recognizing what our method of “dealing” with pain is…
            I am a great example of this. In fact people have often told me that I seem to operate without emotions. I became a master at hiding my pain deep inside; to the point that I thought I was functioning without it. But the pain of my past made a home in my heart and operated in my self-conscious. The way I viewed people, the process by which I made decisions, the places I went were all byproducts of changes in my character brought on by pain.
            Little did I know that if I simply faced my pain and communicated with God about how I felt, that his spirit would bring me liberty! I realized that once I gave my pain to Christ it became my renewal. Once I turned it over, I was free from it. Once I stopped trying to prevent that pain from reoccurring, I had hope again. Hope in Jesus…and that hope meant that my dreams were reborn! In my newfound freedom I could achieve greatness because I was willing to take risks again! The broken heart that I once used as an excuse to hide became a badge of honor that symbolized my victory!

5-   The only way to stop pain and totally resolve it is to turn toward God!
Simply put, there is but one way to keep your dreams alive. One path to see yourself develop daily into a better version of you! The only way to live a life that is both satisfying and worth while is to embrace the pain that life brings and proclaim victory over it!
            Imagine a soldier that trains day in and day out preparing for battle only to get to the front lines of the war and break down at the first sign of trouble… it’s a bit silly huh?

This is what we must be careful to avoid because we are kingdom people who are fighting a daily battle with the enemy and if we do not embrace the ugliness of the fight then we will never really see how sweet the victory can be! Think of every trial in life as preparation for progress!

Romans 5 says it beautifully…“we glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
           
            It is time that we as believers declare our victory! Child of God, YOU are NO LONGER defeated by pain. It does not have a stronghold over you anymore. What the enemy intended for bad, God will use to your benefit. He said in his word that “all things work together for good for those that love him” well let me ask you, do you love Him? If so, then simply say “It is well.”

I consider this ... I've been nominated for 2 awards that I did not win. My latest album received 2.5 stars (out of 5) from DaSouth.com (and an even worse review from Holyculture.net). I have been called "too white", "a bad singer", "fake", "unoriginal". I've been in 2 battle of the bands that I’v lost. I've been turned down by major festivals, tours, and record labels. I am told regularly that my ministry is "too preachy", "too scriptural", "not commercial enough". The record label that I own/fund has seen many artists come and go. I have invested in many artists that simply got what they needed and left. I have lost friends, supporters, family members, and time with the people that mean the most. I have walked away from hundreds of thousands of dollars, dreams of old, and opportunities to achieve worldly success. Calling the business that God gave me "Pure" has set a standard for ministry and life that has forced me to walk many roads alone and without security. Everyday there is fear, rejection, judgment, and discouragement.
The very people that I claim (Believers) and give of myself to help are the first ones to turn their backs in my time of need!

HOWEVER, in this all, regardless of what I endure, what people say, and the rejection that this world brings, I am confident to say "It is well...it is well with my soul" because I have been called by the most high God. I have answered that call, and the very ministry that I am living out is changing lives for Jesus! I have not given up and I NEVER WILL! I am a Soul Winner, and the anointing of God has been placed upon my life, my music, and my label! When the cd's don't sell, the gospel does... when the radio stations don't play the song, a person in need does, when the artists walk away, a hurting child walk towards me...when many others are putting on concerts in front of crowds of other artists, I'm in the streets finding a way to change a life! I am more than a conquerer and no weapon formed against me, not even the ones formed by other believer's shall prosper! My dreams are HIS visions, and in this story, dreams come true!

What Parents Need to Know!!!

What parents need to know!

Xbox games play music while your kid is playing them. If they like sports, it is typically rap music playing. How long does your kid stay on that xbox, playstation or Wii?.......

That is how long the world is speaking into your kids life. Does your kid play video games more than you talk to them? If so, that video game and the music playing in the background has more influence over your kid's life than you do.

Does your kids have friends that they talk to more than you? Is your child in high school or below? If the answer is yes to these 2 questions then your kids friend has more influence than you.

I know what some of you are thinking. "You can't be friends with your child!"

My response would be, "How do you know? Have your tried? Nope. You remember some older person saying it and we just rolled with it." Or is it that we really use the wrong definition of friend. maybe that's it. if not then how is it that as adults we can say we know what a true friend is but we tell ourselves we can't be that for our children? I don't get it. Being a parent is a job. But we work too hard to make money that we turn over friendship with our kids to school, daycare, video games, grandparents associates at school. ......everything & everyone else besides us. I know we need babysitters and day cares. My wife and I work full time jobs, but that is not an excuse.



This boils down to a matter of faith. How you may ask? The Bible says faith comes by hearing. If I were to stop there, we see a big issue. The beginning of this scripture doesn't say what kind of faith comes by hearing. it just says "faith". Some have faith in God, some in money, some in people. So whether you like it or not, FAITH COMES BY WHAT WE HEAR! We need to adhere to the second part. AND HEARING BY THE WORD!!!!!!! Speak the WORD in your kids life that way their faith is in God. And, your Child's faith will not only lead them to salvation but also a healthy prosperous life on earth.

This is why we pray!



This is a much needed, yet commonly negated part of our walk in Christ! Remember that faith is for everything! And to activate your faith... you must pray. To see things happen...you must pray! To help others, change situations, overcome adversity....YOU MUST PRAY!

"Prayer is the foundation of ministry. God is revealing that when we dont speak to him, we experience anxiety...its our souls way of frantically seeking communion with God!" - Point5

and when it comes to applying faith...Like Creflo says, we need to say "I believe! Let's do it!"...don't over-think it...

Have faith...pray...activate your faith...act on your faith and you will see your dreams come true!

In a tough situation PRAY... keep on praying until peace comes over your heart!

          I am a thinker. I love thinking. I perceive things so differently sometimes that I come off as "weird". Lately I have been doing a lot of pondering about God's greatness in us & the fact that we are so special & meant to be set apart from any of God's creation. However, one huge weakness of mine is I tend to over-think things & then stress myself out about the end result forgetting to lean on the Father. Not long ago, I found myself in a debate with four Atheists and it was 4 against 1... I "lost" because I was outnumbered & it wasn't a battle I needed to win.Nonetheless, I know without any doubts that creation, simply points to a devine creator (especially humans).I just find it so ridiculous how human nature causes us to fight the fact that an awesome God created the world & that we are uniquely made & were meant for more. But that debate is neither here nor there. 

           My coworkers & I do Bible studies on our break & this topic came up & sure enough we were studying the word & our beauty in Christ. I had to pray hardcore before I decided to post this because I wanted it to be understandable, Holy Spirit-filled, & a blessing to you. So I pray right now in Jesus name that you my reader are blessed by this post & that you keep your heart receptive & realize that understanding yourself isn't based on looks,status,or material items. Your identity is found in Christ & acknowledging that you are unique.

           The Lord sactified us & put His Spirit into us. The Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, & breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; & man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7)
God breathed HIS very breath into us. He holds our very breath in the palms of His hands! So it isn't wrong to believe that God can give life & take it away....(Have you accepted Jesus as your savior yet? ) 

God gave all humans a spirit,soul, & body. 
Spirit- God awareness. we talk(pray) to God with our Spirit.
Soul- Self awareness. Personality,reasoning, emotions,mind,will & understanding
Body-world awareness. We interact with the physical world through our senses.

            Animals do not have a spirit. Therefore, animals have no consciousness of God. 



         God throws signs of Himself literally everywhere! And there is proof that God wants us to have Christ-centered lives & a heart pleasing to Him. 
Do you know what laminin is? Laminin is your body's cell-adhesion molecules, It is the "glue" that holds all the cells in your body together. 
This means that God has given us His "DNA". We were meant to live a life in reflection to Jesus Christ. Our identity REALLY is in Jesus Christ & the pure blood he shed on the Cross.Ironically, when people say to you "carry your cross" just respond: "I already am! I'm filled with laminin yo!"
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:17)

         When we ask God to pour His Spirit on us & fill our surrounding with His presence, sometimes our body shakes & we feel physically weak, but spiritually alive..almost like we could shout His name forever & yell "Praise Jesus!" on every place on earth & run in circles without getting tired. Our Spirit in this moment is connecting with God's spirit but our body(flesh) is constantly dying & cannot handle the Holy Spirit so it often shakes or trembles in the presence of the Father. I believe that our soul is often defined as our heart in the bible. And since our soul gives us an understanding of self- awareness of emotions &; the mind, it is basically describing our heart. If our heart has been set on the Lord then we have found our self-awareness in Christ.

          2years ago when I gave my life to Christ, I often prayed. But I was scared to have the presence of God near me because He is powerful,beautiful, convicting,& loving all at the same time. It was almost too much to take in. I give you important advice that when you pray, ask God to get the Devil away from you & fill you with inner peace so you can spend time with the Lord. Anytime a person tries to receive something from the Lord for example a message preached, a spiritual gift, peace,wisdom etc. the the Devil will try to steal the blessing away. Don't fear the Devil. You have authority over Him in Jesus name! Satan does not want you to discover your identity in Christ & discover just how awesome God really is & how unique you really are. You were made with excellence for excellence.Be blessed!

A Fragile Treasure - By Ashley


As I began reading 2 Corinthians 4 I noticed that the of the chapter was “Treasure in a Fragile Clay.”  I looked up the definition of Fragile. It means easily broken, shattered, or damaged; delicate; brittle; frail.  After reading this, I felt in my spirit that our hearts are our fragile treasures. How many times have we put our hearts on the line for someone? Sitting here thinking of how many times I have gave my fragile heart away to someone because they promised not to break it. Our heart is a treasure. A treasure that shouldn’t be tossed, thrown, stomped, given away so easily, or put on the line for someone who has no idea how to treat a precious, fragile treasure.  Proverbs 4:23 says, “Guard your HEART above all else, for it determines the course of your life.” That right there throws up a red flag in my life… It says your HEART determines the course of your life. I think if we would really grasp the realness of this verse we wouldn’t be so quick to give our heart away. 
Lord, I ask that you teach us how to treat our hearts like fragile treasures. I pray that to show us and teach us the realness of Proverbs 4:23. I ask you to become real in our lives. Amen!

Speaking victory over your life

I just thought this would be great to share...

 Regardless of yesterday's circumstance, today can be your fresh start at life. Let's be honest, we don't always make the right decisions, we don't always act in faith, we don't always please God, but whatever has harmed you in the past, can be used for your advantage today...if we only believe!

The bible says that "death and life is in the power of the tongue" so claim your victory! Speak life. Choose to act in faith today! Sometimes, all you really need to do is "speak faith and victory into your future"...

I challenge you to refer to this video when your in a bad mood. When things seem to be worthy of a complaint, offer a praise instead. Profess the gospel of Christ and the promise of God in your life...

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11


Now that you know God's plan for you, do as Joel said in this video and STOP TALKING ABOUT THE WAY YOU ARE AND START TALKING ABOUT THE WAY YOU WANT TO BE!
